Help us to raise £18,000 for Oxfam by pledging £100 to get your name or logo on our Paris to Oxford bike ride shirts.

15 of us are embarking on a near 300 mile trip from Paris to Oxford on June 22nd in aid of Oxfam and we need your help. We already have a good number of slots taken but need lots more. So please spread the word and don't forget to reserve a slot yourself. You can have one small slot or a group to give your company logo more prominence. If you are able to support us, please contact me, Richard, on 01865 742211 or email editorial@b4-business.com

Not content with launching in Berkshire already this year, we will be publishing the first edition of B4 Buckinghamshire in April. Prior to this, we will be having a pre launch drinks event at the beautiful Hartwell House in Aylesbury on Thursday 1st March.

Any Buckinghamshire based businesses interested in coming should e-mail me at editorial@b4-business.com. Places are limited.

We welcomed over 100 representatives of Berkshire's professional community to a wonderful drinks and canapes reception at The Millennium Madejski's Cilantro restaurant on Thursday 6th October.

Ruraigh Whitehead, Hotel General Manager, commented, "For a first event in a new territory, B4 have managed to attract a fabulous mix of the established professional community here in Berkshire and a lot of new faces representing some excellent businesses we haven't connected with. If B4 continues to deliver like this, they will enjoy much success."

If you have a presence in Berkshire and would like to take advantage of the launch phase complimentary web membership period to 31st December, 2011, then please contact us on 01865 742211 or e-mail editorial@b4-business.com.

You can see more details about the Awards in the Press Releases section. I just wanted to acknowledge the support of Tina of TERA Events who staged the event, and the many suppliers from Oxfordshire who made the event a great success.

Tina, for your first event, it was fantastic. Well done.

Next Saturday 28th May, Oxford Castle staff (and B4) are walking a whopping 35km throughout the night and early hours from Henley and ending back at Oxford Castle for a well-earned breakfast courtesy of Malmaison. We need your help! Please help the walkers feel that their blisters haven’t been burst in vein and donate whatever you can spare. Anything you give will be hugely appreciated by all these keen fundraisers walking to raise money and awareness of Maggie's Cancer Caring Centre, Oxford.

Read on for further information about the fantastic work that Maggie’s do and why it is so important to support them locally in Oxford. We hope you'll support this great effort, and thank you in anticipation for anything that you might be able to donate! Please visit the Just Giving page to make a donation.

About Maggie's Cancer Caring Centres...

A Maggie’s Centre is a place to turn to for help with any of the problems, small or large, associated with cancer.

Under one roof visitors can access help with information, benefits advice, psychological support both individually and in groups, courses and stress reducing strategies. Visitors don’t have to make an appointment, or be referred, and everything Maggie’s offer is free of charge.

More than a million people are served by the Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals NHS Trust and its cancer services, and there are 4,000 new diagnosis of cancers here a year. Oxford Castle Management Office is working towards a fundraising target of £3 million for the new Maggie's Centre, which will be built at the Churchill Hospital, Oxford. Your support is needed to help to make this happen and to have the centre open, free of charge, for anyone who needs it.

Oxford Castle staff have committed to walking over 20 miles to help raise awareness about this important local charity and hopefully help raise funds for this inspirational new centre. Visit Oxford Castle's Just Giving page to donate.

For further details about Maggie’s Oxford please visit their website.

It hardly seems like yesterday that HM Queen Elizabeth II officially opened Oxford Castle in glorious sunshine, and, fingers crossed, those attending Oxford Castle's 5th Birthday Party celebrations today, 5th May, will be similarly bathed in what promises to be a fantastic day.

Almost 200 guests have been invited by developer, Trevor Osborne, and the Castle Estate Manager, Jean-Pierre Morilleau, has been working hard behind the scenes with his team to make sure the castle is in good shape, as he commented.

"After the winter we have been working towards today to make sure the guests see the Castle in all its glory. We have come a long way in five years and in that time the Castle has really established itself as a premier Oxfordshire destination. We have set up and developed a number of events which are now running annually, and, more importantly, are attracting increasing numbers of visitors.

"But, today is a celebration of all the hard work from everyone at Oxford Castle and we hope that those in attendance have a great time."

Prince Edward was the royal guest ahead of today’s Royal Wedding at the official opening of the spectacular, recently refurbished, Pegasus Theatre in Cowley.

Known for his love of the arts and the world of theatre in particular, his Royal Highness enjoyed a tour of the theatre prior to meeting guests invited to attend this special occasion. Students of Pegasus then performed a series of short sketches for the Earl and guests, after which his Royal Highness performed the most amusing unveiling ceremony.

B4 Editor, Richard Rosser, commented. “The Earl was a breath of fresh air, enigmatic and totally engaging. He showed a genuine interest in the relationship of each and every guest with Pegasus. His speech after the performance was hilarious – a real entertainer.”

135 B4 Ambassadors, Members and their guests were treated to a wonderful evening at Rhodes House last night. One of Oxford’s best kept secrets, Rhodes House is a truly magical venue in the heart of Oxford.

Martin Gubb, The Rhodes Trust’s Finance Director, said, “We were very pleased to host our first B4 Ambassadors reception at Rhodes House yesterday evening. Over 100 guests enjoyed friendly business Networking, and we also had a fantastic opportunity to talk to prospective clients and tell those in attendance more about Rhodes House.”

Dear Family/Friends/Colleagues/Contacts etc.

Sorry to pester you again but, HELP – I am nowhere near my target!

The London Marathon is under 3 weeks away now THIS WEEK and I am getting pretty nervous PETRIFIED about the enormity of the task of running over 26 miles. I am running it on behalf of Oxfam, who are the main sponsor this year and we are hoping, as a group, to raise over £1m!!

On the dark February nights, when I have been pounding the local roads trying to avoid the icy spray from haulage trucks, wondering if my knees/back/ankles/calfs will hold out, to keep me going I only need to look at the reason why I am running; for the incredible and tirelessly supportive humanitarian charity, Oxfam. Here is what they sent me to remind me why I am doing it……….
http://www.oxfam.org.uk/Running/WhyRun/BayushAndBelaynesh

Any contribution you can give to help me do my part in assisting Oxfam to get to their target would be very, very much appreciated.

Please help me support Oxfam in the London Marathon, here is the link to my sponsorship page.

Many thanks
